Use for: Policosanol is a natural mixture of long-chain alcohols from sugar cane wax, beeswax, rice or wheat germ oil. Policonasol is orally used for hyperlipidemia, coronary heart disease and intermittent claudication.
Concerns: Policonasol is mostly well tolerated in appropriate doses. Some people may experience stomach upset, insomnia and vertigo but rare. Its antiplatelet effect may affect the concomitant use of anticoagulants or antiplatelets. Consult with your health care professionals on policonasol use together with these medications. Avoid using on pregnancy and lactation.
