Use for: Krill oil is the oil from shrimp-like crustaceans and used for cardiovascular disease, hyperlipidemia, rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, dry eye, stroke, cancer, dysmenorrhea and aging skin.
Concerns: Krill oil is mostly well tolerated when it is used in appropriate doses for short-term up to 3 months in clinical trials. side effects may include oily skin and pointed pimples as well as the gastrointestinal effects such as stomach upset, heartburn, bloating and flatulence. Krill oil may cause the increased risk of bleeding due to inhibited platelet aggregation and lowering blood sugar level. Consult with the health care professionals when it is used with anticoagulants, antiplatelets and antidiabetic medications. Avoid using on pregnancy and lactation.
